Huumeriippuvaisten äitien hoidosta on saatu hyviä tuloksia perhetukikeskus Päiväperhossa Tampereella ja Lahdessa tehdyn tutkimuksen mukaan ryhmäpsykoterapia ja psykososiaalinen tuki vaikuttavat myönteisesti huumeriippuvaisten äitien mielenterveyteen ja äidin ja lapsen vuorovaikutussuhteeseen.
